Betty Lofthus

This artist lets nature be her guide, but it doesn't stop there. Her paintings are colorful, peaceful, and soulful.  She
uses knife and brush. For 30 years she painted in the New Mexico sun, using oil, acrylic, watercolor and casein
as media.

"My art education started at Corcoran Gallery in  Washington, D.C.  I walked  by every night after work at the Navy
Dept. so I  could gaze at "Niagara Falls" by  Frederick Edwin Church.  Hudson Valley artists still have my attention
and admiration. Colors in a sunrise and/or  sunset still urge me  to paint.
